ILLUSTRATIVE DESIGN CONCEPT
Ridge Retreat
Residential
Sussex
2025
Illustrative concept
A compact shelter shaped by a woodland edge.
The brief
Illustrative concept: explore a modest retreat for two, making the most of a sloping site without overwhelming its landscape.
Our response
A simple roof gathers living and sleeping spaces beneath one sheltered volume. Openings frame the trees rather than competing with them.
Material notes
Charred timber, cork flooring, local stone and natural linen.
From brief to material.
